Rooms

The Guest unit is situated off the side of a large covered veranda or ‘stoep’ on the side of main house. It is self catering although I love to cook dinners for my guests. There are 2 rooms, one upstairs and one downstairs with a full bathroom on the ground floor. This unit sleeps up to 6 people, 2 in the queen-size bed upstairs and 2 in a queen size bed downstairs. There is then a kitchenette and lounge/dining room which has 2 single beds in it.

There is a large uncovered balcony attached to the upstairs room and as it has no railings, small children (and some fearless adults) need to be supervised.

The furnishings are simple yet comfortable being a combination of antique and modern. The burglar bars are custom-made and reflect cats, birds and other bits of nature, though security is luckily not a top priority in this small town, crime being very minimal.

A wide selection of cereals is offered for breakfast and is also included in the accommodation price.

Smithfield also offers excellent internet connectivity (4G). Free Wi-Fi up to 100mbps is available.
